Helene M Barre
Greenwich, Connecticut
In the late 1980s, Helene and her family relocated to Greenwich from their Upper East Side Manhattan cooperative apartment. Her three children have matriculated through both the private and the public Greenwich school systems, and she vows it was the best move they could have made.
Helene was also a real estate agent in the Manhattan office of Sotheby's International Realty before moving to Greenwich, and she feels especially connected to New Yorkers contemplating the same move. She understands their apprehension, and through her own experience she has the empathy and skills to help make their transition a smooth one.
Specializing in significant and historic homes and estates in Greenwich, Helene set a record with the sale of one of the great estates of Greenwich, on Crown Lane. At the time, it was the highest sale of a property in the area that was not located on the Long Island Sound.
Having traveled extensively and spent numerous summers in the south of France, Helene has a heightened awareness of the diverse cultures of many countries and understands the needs of her international clients who choose to live outside of their native country.
Certified by the New York School of Interior Design, Helene uses her interior design expertise to stage each client's home to optimally position it for selling. Color and furniture placement are her specialties. She is equally adept at discerning a home's design assets and also its limitations, and advises her buyers accordingly. With a BA in Education, she is a natural when it comes to educating her clients about the buying and selling process in real estate, and about the town of Greenwich.
Clients appreciate her extensive professional experience and personal knowledge of the Greenwich market. Many of Helene's clientele have worked with her on multiple home sales and purchases throughout the years or have been referred to her by her very satisfied clients.
Helene is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Greenwich Association of Realtors. She has also served on the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) for Conyers Farm and on the area's Multiple Listing Service (MLS) International committee.
