Château Baesveld, in Flemish neo-Renaissance style, is situated in an estate of ± 22 hectares surrounded by a park and forest. Originally, there was heathland here that was reclaimed around 1800 after being acquired by the Van Outryve de Merckem family. It was Françoise van Outryve de Merckem who had a hunting lodge built. After independence, it came into the possession of Aloïs de Vrière, and his son, Adolphe de Vrière, enlarged the hunting lodge into a castle. The park, orchards, and vegetable garden in English landscape style with ponds and walking paths were laid out at the end of the 19th century. The spacious entrance hall with a majestic oak staircase provides access to various salons, the hunting room, a large dining room with an adjoining terrace, kitchen, and pantry. On the first floor, there are sleeping quarters, some of which have been converted into an apartment. The castle has preserved its authentic elements and appearance entirely. Due to its location, discretion and privacy are guaranteed. Other: quiet and unique location, parking for 20 cars. The municipality is situated between Bruges and Torhout, with quick access to the E40 (towards Brussels or Ostend). For more information, please contact Nathalie Van Gastel +32 499 60 20 82.
